Where are the Witches, the Real Ones?

It behooves imagination that at this time in history there are still witches, but where are they? If you are imagining crones with long pointed hats, or toothless hags brewing potions, you’re out of synch with the times.

Witches are not always women with malevolent eyes; they could be elderly people, young men, virginal schoolgirls, prudish aunts, and insufferable old maids. Of course, they would not announce to the world that they are the real thing – WITCHES.

Today’s witches are healers and practice rituals observed and taught through generations. It is not easy to be a witch in this age. Never mind what they say about human rights. People in remote villages are deathly afraid of witches and will hunt them down and kill them if they have enough reason to believe they are evil and culpable of unexplained circumstances and illnesses of their loved ones.

People hunt for witches, behead them and throw their heads to the fire to prevent the witches from reattaching their heads to their bodies and regain life. Or they simply ignore the suspected witches, and isolate them from the mainstream. But where are the witches, the real ones?
